LaMar graduated from Firth High School in 1965. He married his high school sweetheart, Verna Rae in 1966 and they are the proud parents of five children, sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Each one is their favorite.

He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University in 1968. He obtained his CPA license thereafter in 1970. 

He enjoyed becoming friends with his clients in his 40 years of being in the accounting practice and will always treasure their friendship. He is proud that the accounting firm he founded many years earlier continues to hold the values that he instilled: honesty and integrity in all things. 

From 2011 to 2013, LaMar and Verna Rae served as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines and made many more friends from overseas.

His greatest joy in life comes from being with Verna Rae and their children. There has been numerous sporting events and performances they have enjoyed together that has brought meaning and purpose to his life. Vacations with children and grandchildren have provided a lifetime of memories that will last forever. His greatest joy from retirement is spending more time with his family.
